MSI ha annunciato oggi la scheda grafica di fascia medio alta siglata R4870-T2D1G. Si tratta una Radeon HD 4870, basata sulla gpu RV770XT, prodotta in tecnologia a 55nm e dotata di ben 800 stream processor, ed equipaggiata con 1GB di RAM G-DDR5.

La Radeon HD 4870 di MSI supporta tra l'altro, al pari delle altre video card costruite intorno al medesimo core grafico, le librerie grafiche DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, la decodifica video UVD 2.0 (che permette di elaborare simultaneamente due video in modalità PIP ovvero Picture-in-Picture) e l'accelerazione hardware per i formati MPEG-2/VC-1/H.264.
