Arriva dalla software house Turbine il seguente comunicato stampa dal quale si apprende che il celebre e diffusissimo game The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, già PC game dell'anno 2007, è divenuto il primo massively multiplayer online role-playing game ( in breve MMORPG, ndr) ad offrire ai suoi utenti una versione capace di sfruttare appieno le potenzialità delle schede grafiche DirectX 10, "GeForce 8 di NVIDIA in primis".
In accordo allo sviluppatore, The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar è ora in grado di esibire nuovi effetti "shader per il rendering dell'acqua" nonchè di gestire in "real-time la creazione di ombre dall'elevato livello di realismo" (la seguente immagine è legata all'engine in versione standard del gioco).
