EVGA ha annunciato, mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, la realizzazione della scheda grafica di fascia alta EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTX "BlackPearl" (cfr. foto seguente): la nuova card, che sarà disponibile nei prossimi giorni presso i principali store on line internazionali, si fa notare per l'elevata frequenza di funzionamento del core e delle memorie locali, pari rispettivamente a 626MHz e 2.0GHz in accordo alle impostazioni predefinite del produttore.

La e-GeForce 8800 GTX è dunque in grado di operare in regime di overclock rispetto al profilo frequenziale suggerito da NVIDIA, che coincide con 575MHz per l'engine e 1800MHz per la memoria video, in virtù di un sofisticato sistema di raffreddamento a liquido frutto della ricerca tecnologica di EVGA. La capacità della memoria locale è di 768Mb ed è dunque allineata allo standard reference, al pari del bit rate dell'interfaccia tra gpu e RAM (384 bit).
Il costo della card suggerito da EVGA è di €799.
