Vista ha annunciato, mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, la realizzazione del chip-set 671FX, finalizzato alla implementazione di motherboard Windows Vista Ready e dotate di supporto per i processori Core 2 Duo di Intel.
La nuova soluzione di SiS ha dalla sua un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo; consente l'impostazione di una frequenza di FSB fino a 1066MHz, supporta le connettività PCI-E, PCI, SATA, USB2.0 e Gigabit Ethernet.
SiS671FX integra un sottosistema grafico basato sulla tecnologia proprietaria Mirage 3, che è compatibile con le DirectX 9 di Microsoft: tuttavia è in grado di gestire una scheda grafica in standard PCI-Express x16 mediante uno slot dedicato.
Taipei, Nov. 16th, 2006—SiS today announced that the newly-released SiS671FX integrated chipset is specially designed for Intel platform and is considered one of the most valuable products in mainstream market.
Following the development of Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, SiS proudly unveiled its latest SiS671FX chipset supporting this next-generation OS in Q4, 2006. The SiS671FX chipset is for Intel desktop PCs platform, and it aims to provide outstanding system performance by supporting Windows Vista. It supports Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and also supports FSB up to 1066MHz. Besides, the SiS671FX chipset integrates Mirage 3 graphics engine to provide DX9.0 hardware support and extremely advanced 2D and 3D graphics effects. Combining with SiS Real Video Technology, the SiS671FX chipset is able to deliver superior static and dynamic images.
