Sebbene sia questione di giorni, il rilascio di Crysis 3 non è ancora avvenuto ma il first-person shooter di nuova generazione può già vantare numeri di grande successo.

Lo si apprende da un comunicato stampa, che mi mostriamo di seguito unitamente al set di screenshot ufficiali più recenti tratti dalla modalità multiplayer, pubblicato dal suo publisher EA, in accordo al quale sono stati oltre tre milioni i player che hanno preso parte alla fase di beta testing on line della versione multiplayer del game.

Ma non solo: il numero di prenotazioni di Crysis 3 ha già superato, di oltre il 35%, quello fatto registrare, nella analoga finestra temporale precedente il rilascio, dal capitolo precedente della serie, ovvero Crysis 2. E il numero di visualizzazioni dei video promozionali pubblicati mediante il canale di YouTube ha superato la soglia dei 16 milioni.

Con la modalità single-player di Crysis 3, il player indossa i panni di Prophet e, muovendosi in una New York trasformata in una foresta tropicale, combatte contro due schiere di nemici, i soldati dell'esercito CELL, da un lato, e le creature Ceph, dall'altro, con l'ausilio di armi potenti quanto spettacolari.

Il prossimo capitolo della serie di Crysis è stato sviluppato presso gli studi della software house Crytek; lo sviluppatore ha realizzato un nuovo motore grafico, il già celebre CryEngine 3, per l'implementazione dei titolo, atteso in triplice edizione per il supporto delle piattaforme di gioco PC, Xbox 360 e PS3 a partire dal 19 febbraio 2013 negli U.S. e in Australia e il 22 dello stesso mese nella vecchia Europa.
