Apple ha annunciato la nuovissima app iTunes U, che offre a docenti e studenti tutto il materiale didattico che desiderano direttamente sull’iPad, iPhone o iPod touch, per insegnare o seguire interi corsi della materia scelta. La nuova app iTunes U permette agli insegnanti di creare e organizzare i propri corsi integrando materiali essenziali quali lezioni, compiti, libri, test di verifica e piani di studio, e metterli a disposizione di milioni di utenti iOS in tutto il mondo. L’app iTunes U consente agli utenti iOS di accedere al catalogo di contenuti didattici gratuiti più vasto del mondo, messi a disposizione dalle università più prestigiose come Cambridge, Duke, Harvard, Oxford e Stanford; e a partire da oggi anche gli istituti scolastici di istruzione primaria possono offrire interi corsi tramite l’app iTunes U. iTunes U è già diventato uno strumento di apprendimento incredibilmente popolare fra gli studenti, come dimostrano gli oltre 700 milioni di download.
"La nuovissima app iTunes U consente agli studenti di ogni parte del mondo di accedere a interi corsi delle più prestigiose università," ha dichiarato Eddy Cue, Senior Vice Presidente di Internet Software and Services per Apple. "Mai prima d’ora gli insegnanti avevano potuto mettere a disposizione i propri corsi in un modo così innovativo, e consentire a studenti e non, in ogni parte del mondo, di studiare o approfondire qualsiasi argomento, anche fuori dalla classe."
Prima di iTunes U, soltanto gli studenti fisicamente presenti in classe avevano accesso a questi contenuti didattici delle principali università. Con l’app iTunes U per iPad, iPhone e iPod touch, le barriere vengono abbattute. Ovunque si trovino, gli studenti possono seguire un intero corso e accedere a tutti i materiali messi a disposizione dai docenti. Grazie all’app iTunes U, gli studenti possono accedere a nuovi libri direttamente dall’app, e qualsiasi appunto preso in iBooks viene unito per una più facile revisione. Oltre a leggere libri e guardare presentazioni, lezioni e compiti, gli studenti possono ricevere notifiche push per essere certi di avere sempre le informazioni più aggiornate sul corso.* L’app iTunes U è disponibile da oggi come download gratuito sull’App Store.
Gli insegnanti possono creare, gestire e condividere facilmente e velocemente tutti i loro corsi, i materiali didattici e i test di verifica tramite uno strumento web, e utilizzare contenuti e link dall’app iTunes U, da internet, dall’iBookstore o dall’App Store come parte del programma scolastico. E possono anche pubblicare e distribuire i propri documenti, come per esempio file Keynote, Pages e Numbers o libri creati con iBooks Author.

The all-new iTunes U app lets teachers create and manage courses including essential components such as lectures, assignments, books, quizzes and syllabuses and offer them to millions of iOS users around the world. The iTunes U app gives iOS users access to the world’s largest catalog of free educational content from top universities including Cambridge, Duke, Harvard, Oxford and Stanford, and starting today any K-12 school district can offer full courses through the iTunes U app. iTunes U has already become an incredibly popular learning tool for students with over 700 million downloads.

Prior to iTunes U, only students in the classroom at that time had access to educational content from top universities. With the iTunes U app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, those barriers no longer exist. Students anywhere can take an entire course with complete access to all course materials right at their fingertips. With the iTunes U app, students are able to access new books right from within the app, and any notes taken in iBooks are consolidated for easy reviewing. In addition to reading books, viewing presentations, lectures and assignment lists, students can receive push notifications so they always have the latest class information.* The iTunes U app is available today as a free download from the App Store.
Educators can quickly and easily create, manage and share their courses, quizzes and handouts through a web-based tool and utilize content and links from the iTunes U app, the Internet, iBookstore℠ or the App Store as part of their curriculum. They can also upload and distribute their own documents such as Keynote, Pages, Numbers or books made with iBooks Author.
