Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, MSI ha annunciato la video card di fascia alta N480GTX Twin Frozr II, una soluzione basata sulla gpu NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 di NVIDIA, che si fa notare per l'equipaggiamento con un cooler dual-fan Twin Frozr II che assicura la riduzione, rispetto alle implementazioni reference, sia della temperatura operativa che del rumore prodotto.
La struttura del dissipatore Twin Frozr II è composta da una regione di base a contatto con la gpu in rame, da 8 heat pipe da 8mm, da uno strato di alette di raffreddamento la cui dimensione è tale da ricoprire l'intero PCB in lunghezza e da due ventole da 8cm. In accordo ad MSI, la temperatura viene ridotta di 14°C e il rumore di 4dB.
Le specifiche della scheda grafica sono invece allineate a quelle della versione reference; le frequenze di clock del core grafico, dei Cuda core e della memoria on board (1536MB di RAM G-DDR5) sono pari rispettivamente a 700MHz, 1400MHz e 3696MHz. L'interfaccia tra la gpu e la RAM è implementata mediante un bus a 384-bit mentre la dotazione di porte di uscita include due connettori Dual-link DVI e un connettore mini-HDMI.
Le prestazioni della N480GTX Twin Frozr II possono essere agevolmente incrementate spingendo l'hardware in overclock con l'ausilio del tool proprietario Afterburner.
