Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Pretec ha annunciato il primo (memory) card reader al mondo compatibile con l'interfaccia USB 3.0. La device (cfr. la foto seguente), che è denominata P240 USB3.0 High-Speed Multi-Card Reader, è in grado di accedere in lettura e scrittura alle memory card di vario tipo, come ad esempio SD, SDXC e CF.
In accordo al produttore, il lettore sarà disponibile a livello di engineering sample a partire dal prossimo mese di luglio mentre la produzione in volumi avrà inizo nel corso del successivo mese di agosto. Al momento non è stato reso noto l'MSRP della periferica.
