Con il seguente comunicato, pubblicato su Zune Insider, Microsoft ha annunciato il prossimo arrivo in commercio, fissato per il 12 aprile, di una nuova variante del player multimediale Zune HD caratterizzato dalla dotazione di una memoria di massa pari a 64GB.

La device sarà disponibile su Zune Originals in tutte le colorazioni ad oggi esistenti; il costruttore ha indicato anche il suo MSRP, che è pari a $349.99.

Nell'ambito dello stesso comunicato, Microsoft ha reso noto che i modelli da 32GB e 16GB subiranno a breve una riduzione del prezzo per l'end-user dal momento che saranno acquistabili a fronte di un investimento pari rispettivamente a $269.99 e $199.99.

This morning we announced that starting April 12th you will be able to order a 64GB version Zune HD from Zune Originals for $349.99. All colors and custom etching will be available for you to create the ultimate Zune HD to your liking.

In addition to the new capacity, we are lowering the estimated retail price on the Zune HD 16GB to $199.99 and Zune HD 32GB to $269.99.
