Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, TUL Corporation ha annunciato due nuove schede grafiche Powercolor che vanno ad ampliare la già ricca gamma di soluzioni PCS+.

Più in dettaglio, il card maker ha lanciato due schede video, basate sulle gpu della linea ATI HD5800 di AMD ed equipaggiate con un cooler proprietario che consente l'impostazione di fabbrica orientata all'overclock in termini di frequenze operative del core grafico e della RAM on board: i nuovi prodotti sono siglati PCS+ HD5870 e PCS+ HD5850 e visualizzati in questo ordine nelle foto che seguono.

Il dissipatore attivo, che include una ventola da 92mm, quattro heat pipe e lo stato di contatto con la gpu realizzato in rame, permette di ridurre la temperatura di esercizio del processore grafico di 10°C rispetto alle soluzioni che implementano il design reference.

In tal modo è stato possibile spingere le frequenze di clock del processore grafico e della RAM (che in entrambi i casi è pari a 1GB di G-DDR5) rispettivamente a 875MHz (il valore reference per una Radeon HD5870 è pari a 850MHz) e 760MHz (il valore reference per una Radeon HD5850 è pari a 725MHz) e a 1225MHz (il valore reference per una Radeon HD5870 è pari a 1200MHz) e 1050MHz (il valore reference per una Radeon HD5850 è pari a 1000MHz).

Il bus di collegamento tra gpu e RAM è a 256-bit mentre le uscite video offerte da entrambe sono di tipo Dual DL-DVI, HDMI e Display Port. Il bundle include il game DiRT2, il cui motore grafico è basato su DirectX 11 ed è quindi in grado di utilizzare pienamente le feature di queste Radeon.
