Taipei, Taiwan, 4 March 2008 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, and Bitway, one of Brazil's largest system integrators, today announced a new desktop computer based on the VIA pc2500 mainboard. The Bitway Flex PC will be available from major retailers throughout Brazil for a recommended retail price of R$800, and comes complete with monitor, stereo speakers, keyboard and mouse.

The VIA pc2500 mainboard, distributed in Brazil by VIA partner Phitronics, is based on a 1.5GHz VIA C7-D processor that uses up to 76% less power than competing desktop processors, making it ideal for Brazil, where electricity prices are among the highest in the world. At current average Brazilian electricity prices, it's estimated that a 100 PC organization will be able to save upwards of R$11,800 (US$7000) per year.

"VIA is delighted to partner with Bitway in order to bring power efficient PCs to Brazil," commented Richard Brown, Vice President of Corporate Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc. "The VIA pc2500 mainboard has proven hugely popular and we are pleased to be leading the way in developing innovative low power platforms that enable our OEM and SI customers to meet the growing worldwide demand for energy-efficient computing."

"The VIA pc2500 mainboard has enabled us to create a complete, low powered system without the need to compromise on performance or versatility," said Martial Camara, President and CEO of Bitway Group. "We expect the Bitway Flex PC's combination of full-featured computing and excellent power efficiency will appeal to schools, businesses and government offices throughout Brazil, as well as individual users."

Fully compatible with Microsoft Windows XP/2K and Linux operating systems, the VIA pc2500 Platform combines next generation silicon with excellent thermal and physical properties and market-leading power, security and performance characteristics to deliver all the necessary performance for productivity, education and entertainment.
