Shuttle Inc., leader di mercato nel settore mini-PC e produttore di soluzioni Multi-Form-Factor, amplia la propria gamma di mini-PC dotati di sistema operativo open source. L'ultimo rampollo è il sistema completo X270V basato sullo Shuttle Barebone X27D.

Come già nel caso dei mini-PC Shuttle con sistema operativo Linux preinstallato, il X270V utilizza openSUSE, attualmente nella versione 11. Tutte le funzioni del PC vengono configurate in pochi passi dopo il primo avvio e sono immediatamente utilizzabili. L'ampliamento con pacchetti di programmi è possibile in qualsiasi momento mediante installazione "1-click" dal sito Web openSUSE. In tal modo è possibile personalizzare al massimo la dotazione alle proprie esigenze.

"I requisiti Linux non richiedono elevate risorse e sono quindi l'ideale per i nettop", spiega Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR di Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH.

Nel proprio case dalla superficie verniciata in nero lucido, questo minuscolo sistema racchiude soprattutto componenti a elevata efficienza energetica provenienti dal mondo dei portatili. Il motore del sistema è una CPU Intel Atom 330 a due core, entrambi funzionanti a 1,6 GHz. Fino a 2 GB di RAM DDR2 offrono un margine adeguato in ogni frangente.

Il X270V è dotato di supporto per una veloce rete Gigabit, audio a 6 canali, prese PS/2, interfaccia seriale, 6x USB e due uscite per monitor, offrendo così un gran numero di opzioni per l'espansione.

Il sistema completo Shuttle X270V è immediatamente disponibile nei negozi e nello Shuttle Systems Configurator. Il prezzo consigliato da Shuttle parte da 359,- euro (IVA 20% inclusa). Shuttle Inc., the market leader in the Mini-PC sector and manufacturer of Multi-Form-Factor solutions, is now expanding its portfolio of Mini-PCs with Open Source operating systems. The latest offshoot is the X270V complete system based on the Shuttle Barebone X27D.

As with earlier Shuttle Mini-PCs with pre-installed Linux operating system, the X270V uses openSUSE – now in version 11. All PC functions are configured after the first start-up in only a few steps and can then be used immediately. Expansion with program packages is possible at any time by a 1-Click-Installation from the openSUSE website to meet individual requirements.

"The resource-saving requirements of Linux are ideal for Nettops.", said Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH.

The tiny tot with a volume of only a few litres accommodates energy-efficient components from the mobile sector within its highly-polished, black-coated case. The X270V is driven by an Intel dual-core Atom 330 CPU with each core clocked at 1.6 GHz. Up to 2GB of DDR2 memory can be fitted for fluent work with internet and office applications.

Fast Gigabit-LAN, 6-channel audio, PS/2-connectors, serial interface, 6x USB, VGA and DVI-out, connect the X270V to peripheral devices.

The Shuttle X270V Complete System is available immediately in bespoke configurations from specialist retailers or via the Shuttle Systems Configurator.
