Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Apple ha ufficializzato il successo commerciale del nuovo iPhone 3GS, di cui sono stati venduti oltre un milione di esemplari durante il primo fine settimana che ne ha seguito il lancio sul mercato, avvenuto lo scorso Venerdì 19 Giugno.

In accordo allo stesso Steve Jobs, CEO di Apple, i consumatori "stanno votando e l'iPhone sta vincendo". E ancora, "la disponibilità di oltre 50.000 applicazioni presso l'App Store rende il predominio dell'iPhone più netto che mai".

Apple ha infine sottolineato che il nuovo firmware dell'iPhone, ovvero il software iPhone 3.0, è stato scaricato da sei milioni di utenti durante i primi cinque giorni che ne hanno seguito il rilascio.

CUPERTINO, California—June 22, 2009 — Apple today announced that it has sold over one million iPhone 3GS models through Sunday, June 21, the third day after its launch. In addition, six million customers have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software in the first five days since its release.
